We Talked Everything Except Love

It was a night of million stars. 
With every star,
I kept counting the moments, 
we shared, together. 
While she kept counting, 
my imperfections.

An affair to reject

He: Charming. Candid. Chivalrous. Responsible.

Understanding. Self-made man.

She: Pretty. Bubbly. Giving. Caring. Inspirational.

Ambitious. Accomplished.

They were a perfect pair.

From home to office.

And from office to back home.

The shortest distance I travel everyday,

finding reasons to make peace with my life.

 But I think, I’m running out of time.

Near yet Far.

'Son, you were away for a month.'
'Yep.'
'Did you miss anything?'
'No. Mom.'
'Nothing?'
'Nothing. I've always lived this far.'

Love is non-alcoholic.

She kept offering me a drink. 
Bottle after bottle. 
And, I kept refusing her. 
Bottle after bottle. 
She asked the reason why?
I said, 'because I don't want to fall in love with this bottle but with you.' 

Innocence

‘ek plate chole bhature, aloo zyada dena’,
Ordered a 10 yr. old kid to the thele waala.
After a while thele waala asked,’ kaun hue tum?’
‘Sharmas’, the kid instantly answered.
‘woh kaun hote hain?’ thele waala inquired. 
Kid shrugged his shoulders gesturing his unawareness.
Then prompted, ’Hindus I guess’.
Thele waala nodded. And carried on with his work.

‘Oh! I’m sorry.’ I said.

‘What sorry? Huh… what sorry?

You almost broke my shoulder’, she screamed.

‘But it was just a…’

‘No, just shut up. Don’t argue. I know the guys like you. You only want to…’

‘Hey listen,’ I interrupted,

‘You want to talk, let’s talk more…

…over a cup of coffee. What say?’ I proposed.
